When we sing,
we change who we are.
When we change who we are,
we change the world.

Community Chorus

MCC is a non-auditioned chorus for all singers thirteen years of age and up. We offer two semesters of singing each year that culminate in concert performances. Our fall semester begins in mid-September leading to a January concert and our spring semester begins in mid-February and ends with our June benefit concert. Singers are provided with online training tools and weekly rehearsals to ready for our performances. Under the direction of Steve Weston, this large group of singers (150 voices on average) prepares ten to fifteen pieces for concert. Singers in this group also learn basic choral, sight reading and voice training skills. Singers are expected to practice their music approximately one hour a week outside of weekly rehearsals. MCC rehearses every Monday night from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Semester Fees and Registration

Semester fees apply for each season of singing. These fees, currently $80, include semester membership dues and help to cover the costs of sheet music, rehearsal venue rentals, accompanist, chorus communications, practice tools and other costs that must be met to allow us to sing together every Monday night during the spring and fall concert seasons. Full and partial scholarships can be applied for if needed, and flexible payment plans are available.

Fall semesters (January concert) begin in mid-September, with registration starting at 5:00 pm, and continuing the following Monday beginning at 5:00 pm. Spring semesters (June concert) begin in mid February, with registration also continuing the following Monday. Registration is held at The Elm Street Congregational Church on Elm Street in Camden. This is also the location for our weekly rehearsals. For more information please call 207.975.0582.
