When we sing,
we change who we are.
When we change who we are,
we change the world.

New Midcoast Community Chorale to Sing in Three Local Venues

The Midcoast Community Chorale (MCC Chorale) will perform under the direction of Steven Weston in three venues on the upcoming weekend. The theme of the MCC Chorale performance is "I See. I Saw,” The selection of music seeks to explore the many visual experiences in our human lives that are expressed in music, as well as to honor the very individual interpretation of what we see with our eyes, and see with our minds when enhanced by the other senses.

The three local venues are scheduled for the convenience of choral music lovers in the mid-coast area.  Belfast’s Unitarian Universalist Church hosts the first performance of the MCC Chorale Concert, on Friday, May 31, at 7:00 pm, at 37 Miller Street.  The second MCC Chorale Concert will take place  Saturday, June 1, at 2:00 pm, at Rockland Congregational Church, 180 Limerock Street. On Sunday June 2, at 4:00 pm, MCC Chorale will be joined by the Maine Balkan Choir for the fourth annual Maine Choir Fest sponsored by the Friends of Music  at the Congregational Church of Camden, 55 Elm Street.

Each concert at its venue is free and open to the public.  A suggested donation is $10, although all donations will be cheerfully accepted.

The Midcoast Community Chorale, only recently instituted as an audition-only choir, is an adjunct of the Midcoast Community Chorus and adheres to its mission, ”To sing as a community for the community.” .For more information contact mcclleach@gmail.org. or call 975-0582.
