About the Music
What the chorus will be singing together for the next few months is a sampling of music that Mimi Bornstein, Artistic Director, has been hearing, collecting and falling in love with over some 20 years of her career as a choral director. It represents a diversity of cultures, beliefs, traditions and geographies. Some of these songs are in our native tongue, harmonies and rhythms; some sing the language and music of the cultures and/or countries of their origin. Although there may be diversity in the specific beliefs, time periods, text and melodies, on some level all of this music embraces the energy of harmony, healing, liberation and peace.

It is my deep hope and intention that as we learn to sing this music together we will be transformed and transcended as individuals and as a collective – and that through the very act of breathing life into these songs we will bring harmony, peace and healing to ourselves, each other and  the world around us."
