When we sing,
we change who we are.
When we change who we are,
we change the world.

It’s Spring Concert Time - Lift Us Up - June 17, 2017 at 7pm

Celebrate spring graduations and the advent of summer with the Midcoast Community Chorus spring concert, coming to the Camden Hill Regional High School’s Strom Auditorium on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 7:00 PM. The concert promises to Lift Us Up by featuring warm and inspiring songs from popular to poetic, from Jacob’s Ladder, to Ain’t No Mountain High Enough and True Light, to poignant versions of Blue Skies and Over the Rainbow, and including the profound Great Trees and The Boy Who Picked Up His Feet to Fly. Gate of Sweet Nectar and As We Share will help us focus on the mission of this concert’s beneficiary, Meals on Wheels; and we will finish our celebration with Mervyn Warren’s arrangement of Joyful, Joyful.

MCC’s auditioned small group Chorale will also sing three pieces, including Ain’t No Grave Can Hold My Body Down to reinforce the concert theme. The chorus will at times literally enfold the audience, and the inclusive mission of the chorus ensures that there will also be opportunities for the audience and chorus members to join together in song. The performance will be under the direction of Steve Weston and accompanied by Sean Fleming, Assistant Director, MCC’s house band, and local guest musicians.
