When we sing,
we change who we are.
When we change who we are,
we change the world.

Midcoast Community Chorus is looking for an Artistic Director

The Midcoast Community Chorus (MCC) based in midcoast Maine seeks an experienced, part-time (20-25 hrs. per week) Artistic Director. Applicants should bring excellence in choral conducting and teaching to the position, and embrace the MCC mission "To Sing as a Community for the Community.”
Founded on the belief that everyone has a voice that deserves to be heard, and that powerful things happen when we sing together in community, MCC performs music of hope, healing, transformation and peace from all over the world. MCC offers a supportive, learning environment for those who want to sing and give voice to the issues of our times in an un-auditioned, multi-generational chorus of about 130, and an auditioned chorale of about 50.
MCC performs at least two concerts per year. The June concert raises funds and awareness for worthy non-profit organizations addressing issues and injustices in our community. The January concert raises money for the ongoing operational expenses of the chorus. Finalists will be subject to a background check because youth choristers sing in the MCC.
More information about MCC and a copy of the job description are available here. Letters of application and resumes can be sent to mccassist@gmail.com, and two brief performance videos showing contrasting styles of composition should also be included.
The MCC board is fully committed to an open and fair search process, and it encourages both external and internal candidates to apply. The application period closes on  Monday,  March 13, 2017.
